How it works

  1. Find lower-hold prices across sportsbooks

Enter both sides from two books. The tool selects the better price on each outcome, calculates the combined market overround, and compares it with the hold at each individual book. A lower combined hold can come from taking opposite sides at different sportsbooks.

Use prices from the same event, period, and market definition. Combining mismatched markets creates a number that does not describe a real two-outcome position.

  2. Why low hold matters

The vig embedded in odds raises the break-even rate. Shopping for a better price can reduce that cost and improve the expected return of a wager, all else equal. Low hold is a market property; it does not tell you which outcome to select.

If each side is -110 at one book, the market overround is about 4.76%. Replacing one side with +100 lowers the combined implied probability total.

  3. Use the best available odds

The tool uses the top price entered on each side, but availability, limits, and timing may differ. Confirm the line and stake limit at each sportsbook before acting. This page does not connect to a sportsbook or refresh market data.

Frequently asked questions

What is a low-hold bet?

It is a market or pair of prices with a relatively low overround, meaning the implied probabilities add closer to 100%.

Can low hold still lose?

Yes. Low hold describes the price margin, not the event outcome. A well-priced wager can still lose.

How does this tool find the best prices?

It compares the two prices you enter for each outcome and uses the better one to calculate the combined overround.
